At last night's Board Game Social, held on what I once heard on a radio quiz is the unluckiest day of the year (although I can now find no verification of that "fact" anywhere!), we were lucky enough to be blessed by the presence of a large and lovely and lively bunch of players willing to take their chances and pit their wits at a wide variety of tabletop titles. The throng of enthusiastic gamers included three familiar faces who were joining us for the first time in a while - great to see you again Gandhi, Matt and Ruban - and three brand-new faces joining us for the first time ever - a huge LeadBelt Games Arena WELCOME to Natasha, Becca and Andy - we look forward to seeing you all at many more sessions in 2024
We got started early for yesterday's Sunday Social, and the turnout was fantastic! Many thanks to everyone who came to spend some of their New Year's Eve playing games with us... and kudos to those who did the whole 10-hour session (and were still hankering for more)! Unfortunately, the session had to come to a close at 9pm, allowing folks to get out to parties or home to family and friends. But there was plenty of talk about the possibility of us all seeing in the New Year together at LeadBelt, so I think we'll probably look at planning a full-on New Year party at the end of 2024 (but don't quote me on that).
Lovely, vibrant gaming evening at the Arena yesterday - our Thursday Board Game Social crowd sharing space with wargamers, skirmishers and an RPG group - we love it when the place is buzzing with tabletop gamers of all kinds rubbing shoulders together and sharing their passions! Alongside the D&D group and people playing Mordheim, Ronin and Warhammer 40K, Legions Imperialis and Kill Team, the Board Game Social welcomed three brand-new visitors (great to see you Lotte, Dan and Paul, and look forward to more sessions to come) and enjoyed playing...
Yesterday's Sunday Board Game Social was yet another well-attended session in which a staggering number and variety of games were enjoyed by our avid bunch of players. It's a perfect way to spend a Sunday! Thanks again to everyone who comes along and makes these sessions so warm and wonderful. We have more room at our tables for new players, and our regulars are incredibly friendly and accommodating, so if you're into board games (or fancy finding out why some of these games are so beloved) you should definitely come and join one of our sessions - Thursdays from 5 pm and Sundays from 12 noon.
Thursday evenings are fast becoming one of our busiest and most vibrant, diverse and enjoyable gaming sessions of the week! Not only are we seeing more and more Board Gamers attending our dedicated weekly Social (so many last night that we burst at the seams and onto tables in the wargaming area), but Thursday is also very often the day of choice for one or two RPG groups, TCG'ers and skirmishers/wargamers... and we love it!
It was yet another multi-discipline mega-day at the Arena yesterday... the Sunday Board Game Social session was well-attended again... and the rest of the space was nicely packed with tabletop gamers playing all manner of adventures and battles... ...a seven-strong Dungeons & Dragons group... ...an enthralling mini-tournament of Warhammer 40K...
The Board Game Social crowd spent a chilly evening in the warm embrace of good company and great games last night! And the Arena was once again abuzz with players of other tabletop fare too... an RPG group in our private room, a couple of tables of WH40K, and our now-regular Thursday night MORDHEIM bunch battling it out together.
What a super Sunday Social session we had yesterday! The Board Gaming tables were chock-full for much of the day, and the majority of attendees were playing solidly from noon until gone 8pm! That's dedication and camaraderie for you!!
Lots of happy board gamers laughing and enjoying each other's company is what we always love to see and hear... and that's precisely what we got at yet another delightful Thursday Social session last night! And, as always, there was plenty of sharing of the teaching duties, allowing the less experienced of the group to be introduced to new games and to enjoy them with people they might not have played with before. This is what the Social is all about, and it's always a joy to experience it being embraced by all.
