Lots of happy board gamers laughing and enjoying each other’s company is what we always love to see and hear… and that’s precisely what we got at yet another delightful Thursday Social session last night!
And, as always, there was plenty of sharing of the teaching duties, allowing the less experienced of the group to be introduced to new games and to enjoy them with people they might not have played with before. This is what the Social is all about, and it’s always a joy to experience it being embraced by all.
A particular joy last night was seeing Becca (someone who says they never do very well at games) winning not one, but TWO games! There was a close-run victory at SPLENDOR and a quietly achieved triumph at BLOKUS (while the three other players were busy scuppering each other’s chances)! I’m just disappointed I somehow didn’t get a single picture! Sorry Becca!
Around the rest of the tables, there were plays of…
- SUSHI GO!
- ARCTIC SCAVENGERS
- DEAD MAN’S DRAW
- THE QUACKS OF QUEDLINBURG
…and in a six-player game of ‘SO CLOVER’ we mirrored the total perfection of West Indies cricketer Sir Garfield Sobers’ famous six sixes from a single over! Quite apt really, because “Sir Garry” was playing for Nottinghamshire that day!
Tune in for more game-play reporting and loosely related random trivia after the next Board Game Social. Better still… why not join us for the Social itself? See you on Sunday, anytime from 12 noon!
In the meantime, enjoy winding down the week and winding up for a fabulous weekend!
P.S. Cheers to Baggy for the lovely cupcakes! Happy Birthday for Tuesday, fella!
